Use of Cell Phones is Prohibited in the Clerk's Office.

In order to maintain order and to uphold the security,

dignity and decorum of the court, the following dress code is

applicable to all persons entering the courtroom

of the Hanover General District Court.

Clothing shall be neat and clean without rips and tears.

Shirts shall completely cover stomach area to belt line.

The following shall NOT be worn in the courtroom:

No exposed underwear, tube tops, halter necks,

cut-off jeans or slacks, short shorts, shirts without sleeves (men),

sunglasses, spaghetti straps, head gear of any kind

(except items worn for religious or medical reasons).

The following activities are prohibited in the courtroom:

(unless permitted by the court): cell phone usage/texting, computer usage,

photography/cameras, recording devices, and reading of newspapers, books and magazines

Law Enforcement and officers of the court may keep pagers,

cellular telephone and voice recorders on vibrate only.

Any deviation from this policy must first be approved

on a case-by-case basis by the Judge.

Civil Filings are taken Mon-Fri 8AM to 3:30 PM

Payment Plans and new civil filings are done Mon-Fri 8 AM to 3:30 PM

Continuance Policy

Civil cases can only be continued in writing by agreement of all parties. Continuance policy can be found on the Hanover Court Home page Website in document or on file in the clerk's office.
