Continuance Policy

Continuances: CIVIL - For the 2B docket (Civil Trials), no trial continuances outside good cause. For the 2A docket, (Civil Returns), if agreed consent obtained, then at the discretion of the judge if request for court action is filed timely. CRIMINAL - Misdemeanors by judge on motion; Felonies by judge w/Commonwealth's Attorney's consent. TRAFFIC - Infractions -1st by clerk, 2nd by judge; DWIs - 1st by clerk if agreed by both parties; 2nd by judge; All other traffic misdemeanors by judge on motion. Email: GDCmail@fairfaxcounty.gov
